Our Climate Stories exists to make community-led climate research visible and useful — not to collect more data than we need. This page explains what information we gather when you visit the site, why, and what say you have in it.
Who we are
Our Climate Stories is a project of PERCC ("we," "us," "our"), showcasing community-led climate case studies from partner organizations around the world. If you have questions about this policy, reach us at.
What we collect
When you reach out to us. If you contact one of our partner organizations or use a "Get Involved" form, we collect what you give us — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use it only to respond to you.
When you browse the site. Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information: pages visited, time on site, browser and device type, and general location (city/country level, not precise). We use this to understand how the site is used and to keep it running well. See our [Cookie Policy] for the details on how this is collected.
When you download a resource. We may log which resources are downloaded and how often, in aggregate, to understand which research is reaching people. We don't tie this to your identity unless you've separately given us your contact details.
We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we don't ask visitors to create accounts.
How we use it
We use the information above to:
Respond to messages sent through the site
Understand how people use and navigate the platform, so we can improve it
Keep the site secure and functioning properly
Report in aggregate, anonymized form to funders and partners on reach and engagement
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Partner organizations featured on the site, if your message was directed to them specifically
Service providers who help us run the site — for example, our hosting provider and analytics provider — under agreements that limit what they can do with your data
Legal authorities, only if required by law
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions only as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of the conversation, then delete them. Aggregate analytics data may be kept longer since it isn't tied to an identifiable person.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. To make a request, email us at and we'll respond as promptly as we can.
Children's privacy
Our Climate Stories is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Community photography and case study content
Photographs, quotes, and data featured in our case studies are collected and published with the informed consent of the communities and individuals involved, in partnership with the organizations on the ground. If you have a concern about how you or your community is represented, please contact us directly.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site evolves. We'll update the date at the top when we do. If changes are significant, we'll make that clear on the site.
